One step at a time!
Wellness and fitness have become my life love. I once was 75lbs over weight and everyday activity was a struggle. Walking up stairs and crossing my legs were difficult to do. Because of this, in 2003 I decided I was going to change my life. I began by doing 20 minutes of cardio 3 days a week. I gradually made changes to my diet and started by cutting out fast food completely and limiting my intake of sugary beverages. After losing 40 lbs I decided I wanted to take my own personal health and wellness to the next level by toning up my muscles. I knew I couldn't do it on my own, as, my knowledge was limited. I knew if I didn't invest in myself now, the investment would be significantly more costly later. At this time, I started working with a wonderful trainer who pushed me to achieve my goal of increasing my percentage of muscle and decreasing my percentage of fat.
I was so inspired after working with Ty, I decided to become a personal trainer myself. Now, I am an ISSA certified trainer and have been training for 7 years. I've worked with clients across the spectrum from increasing mobility in individuals with prosthetic limbs to preparing clients for military physical entrance tests. I also have a great deal of experience in facilitating rehabilitative programs for stroke victims.
What once started out as a personal goal has since become my life's work. Now, it's well beyond just aiming to meet my own wellness goals...it's about helping others to do the same. My passion lies in motivating people and helping them reach the goals they once thought impossible by guiding them one step at a time.
